I am utterly shook by this story today and wondering if anyone else is feeling the same way? Gun violence impacts people even long after the event. 

And for victims of gun violence, they are at higher risk of being re-traumatized through similar events or scenarios. 

This is why preparing ourselves is essential. Although we often can&rsquo ICYMI: I published a book a few months back! 🤍 

One thing I found in my time working with trauma survivors... is hope. And it’s this hope that I want to share with the rest of the world. 

As we acknowledge National Grief Awareness Week this Grief often leaves us feeling stuck. 

Time feels like it’s at a standstill after our loved one has passed while the rest of the world moves on. 

We might focus so heavily on what and who we lost that we lose sight of what we had. One keeps us Has anyone ever told you, “Your trauma shaped you. You should be grateful for it.”? 

We’re often told to find the good in the bad. By taking on a positive outlook, we strengthen ourselves, build resilience, and welcome growth.

I know grief is a heavy and complicated emotion. It’s not easy to feel or even think about. Because of that, people often push it down or sweep it under the rug.

But when we do that, we only avoid grief, not remove it.
How many people do you know have experienced gun violence? And how many people do those people know? ❤️‍🩹

The reality is that every 11 minutes, one person dies from gun violence in America. And each death is accompanied by hundreds, even thousa Feeling distressed and don’t know what to do? I’ve got some good news for you!

Bringing yourself back to the present can be as simple as 1, 2, 3.
